Chapter I · Northern
Where water learns to move stone
Freeze–thaw is not a cold problem. It is a water problem.
Moisture enters a joint as liquid and leaves as ice nine percent larger, several hundred times a season. Wood swells and splits along the grain. Vinyl goes brittle and loses its seal at the corner.
A composite frame cannot take the water in. There is nothing to expand, so the geometry set on installation day is the geometry that survives the winter — and the one after it.
Chapter II · North Central
Where every season asks a different question
A single year here spans a hundred-degree swing.
Humid summers, hard freezes, and the long shoulder seasons between them. A material that expands with heat and contracts with cold works loose at the fasteners, one cycle at a time.
Composite moves less, and it moves the same in July and January. The weatherstrip meets the frame where it always did, so the seal that was tight at handover is tight a decade on.

Where the sun does not relent
Heat is not an event here. It is the baseline.
Sustained UV load fades finishes, embrittles gaskets, and drives dimensional creep — the slow, permanent deformation of a frame held at temperature for years.
The composite core holds its dimension under sustained heat, and the finish is engineered for the UV load of the zone it is certified for, not a national average.

Where the air turns to salt
Salt finds every fastener a lesser door forgot to protect.
Permanent humidity, salt air, and storm-borne debris. Steel corrodes, wood rots, and a hurricane turns a loose panel into a missile aimed at the opening it was meant to protect.
The composite frame does not corrode or rot, and the Florida impact series is missile-rated to code — the same door, prepared for the one climate that tests all the others at once.

Ice, heat, and salt cannot enter a sealed edge
Water does not attack surfaces. It finds the cut edge.
Most waterproofing is a surface treatment, and water ignores surfaces. It finds the end grain, the underside of the bottom rail — the places a coating was never asked to reach.
HydroShield™ seals the door as one closed body: face, reverse, both stiles, top rail and bottom rail. Six sides, one continuous barrier, no route around the corner joint — beneath all four natures.
